PRODUCT INFORMATION
General Description
No longer available, only random odd pieces! Smithsonite is a variably coloured trigonal mineral which only rarely is found in well-formed crystals. The typical habit is as earthy botryoidal masses. Smithsonite occurs as a secondary mineral in the weathering or oxidation zone of Zinc-bearing ore deposits. It sometimes occurs as replacement bodies in carbonate rocks and as such may constitute Zinc ore. Specimens do not come up very often and the recently discovery of a pocket in 2022 is a fantastic opportunity for collectors! We have for a couple of years been getting matrix Smithsonite from Congo which has been beautifully polished in South Africa. A fairly unique and rare item to add to any collectors cabinet, either natural or polished. This is a very unique line of products which are all locally manufactured. The copper wire wraps are all uniquely made in Cape Town, South Africa. A very beautiful range of pendants which are all one of a kind copper wire wrap jewellery pieces.
